As part of the of the 2024 Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail, Lux Events undertook cultural consultation and close collaboration with First Nations artists to produce this immersive installation where ancient culture and modern technology merged to create a spectacular centrepiece to the highly anticipated annual Christmas Lights program.

A Corroboree is a profound cultural gathering where Aboriginal people connect with the Dreaming through song, dance and visual art. Traditionally, Corroboree's mark significant life events such as marriages, births and rites of passage, as well as seasonal changes, bringing communities together for trade, storytelling, and cultural exchange. Often held at night, these gatherings revolve around a fire, where participants dance, play instruments, and sing ancient Dreaming stories.

At Barrack Square, this rich tradition was brought to life in a truly breathtaking First Nations cultural celebration. The event featured Noongar-inspired animations, traditional music, and an immersive light display, transforming the space into a vibrant storytelling experience. Families and visitors were invited to experience and significance of First Nations traditions, creating an unforgettable and deeply meaningful experience during the festive season.
